We have developed Volta Product which can be further renamed, customized or used by organization under its own label or logo. Additionally, it informs you about how to access and update your information while granting you choices to manage how your data is used. In this context, "you" and ”your" pertain to users of the Product.
This Policy applies to a wide range of activities, including but not limited to online and offline activities carried out by the Company. The online activity encompasses of websites operated by us like https://www.voltacabs.com/ or our Mobile Application (including but not limited to Android and/or IOS), which can be accessed via personal computers, mobile devices, or other means. Additionally, it covers offline activities involving data collection through mailings, telephone communication, marketing activities, browsing or in-person interactions. These activities, whether they occur in the digital realm or in traditional offline contexts, are all part of our overarching service. This service primarily revolves around facilitating taxi hire services or any other type of commuting service through a network of third-party drivers and taxi operators, and we collectively refer to it as the "Service."

This Policy is an integral component of and is incorporated into the applicable Terms and Conditions specific to the use of the Volta Platform. ”Captains“ shall mean independent third-party vehicle operators/driver/riders who intends to offer its services on the Volta Platform to its customers.

”Device“ shall mean any hardware including but not limited to computer, mobile or other device used to access the Services.

Location Data:
For Captains: When Captains are using the Volta App, we collect location data when the app is active on their mobile device or other device, whether in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app not in use or app is closed). This location data is collected when Captains have activated the "On-Duty" icon.
For Customers: We gather precise or approximate location data from users' mobile devices if they grant us permission to do so. We collect this data from the moment a ride or delivery request is made until its completion, as well as when the app is active on their mobile device. We use this location data to enhance the user experience, improve pick-up locations, enable safety features, and detect and prevent fraud.
Volta Platform may also collect location data from Captains and associates it with their Customer's account, even if the Customer has not explicitly permitted us to collect location data from their device. This allows us to support, services such as generating receipts and offering customer support.
Please note that the specific information collected may vary depending on the nature of your interactions with us and the Services you use. We collect this information to provide and improve our services and to ensure a personalized experience for our users. However, we are committed to ensure that such Protected Information shall not be used for any other purpose.
Periodically, we may enhance the information we gather about you through our website, mobile application, or services by incorporating data from external sources provided by third parties.
The preferred mode of delivering the Service is via Mobile Application. When you use our mobile application through Play Store or App Store, we may collect data including but not limited to, technical details about your device, system and application software, and peripherals, location. We collect this information periodically to facilitate software updates, provide product support, and offer other relevant Services to you.
Additionally, when you interact with our mobile application, such as preferred language country site (if applicable), the manufacturer and model of your mobile, permission to access SMS/text message for One-Time Passwords (OTPs), call history, call details, automatic filling of OTPs your mobile operating system, internet browser, geolocation data etc. All the information that are intended to be collected has been done in accordance with the applicable law for a lawful purpose.
WE URGE YOU TO NOT TO SHARE OR TRANSFER SMS/TEXT MESSAGE DATA TO ANY THIRD PARTY EXCEPT AS OUTLINED IN THIS POLICY.
When we collect, hold, use, and disclose your Protected Information, we do so primarily in connection with the provision, sale, and promotion of Services provided by us or obtained through our services. We also use your information to enhance and improve the range of Services and offerings we provide. BY USING OUR SERVICES, YOU CONSENT TO RECEIVING THESE TYPES OF DIRECT MARKETING AND COMMERCIAL ELECTRONIC MESSAGES. HOWEVER, YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO OPT OUT OF OUR DIRECT MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS, AND OUR MARKETING MATERIALS.
Furthermore, when it is suitable and in line with privacy regulations, we may anonymize, de-identify, or aggregate your Protected Information. This means that your personal information is stripped of any identifying details and grouped together with similar data. We may then share this anonymized, de-identified, or aggregated data with third parties for purposes such as data analytics and marketing. This enables third parties to provide products and services that are more likely to align with your interests and preferences while preserving your privacy.
It is your duty to ensure that the information provided to us during account registration is accurate including name, contact number, email address etc. If there is a change in Protected Information or if you no longer wish to use our Services, you have the option to correct inaccuracies, delete information, or make amendments. This can typically be done by contacting us via details provided under ”Contact Us“ tab on the Company’s website. Upon receiving such requests, we will make reasonable efforts to update the information in our active databases in a timely manner.
If you wish to cancel your account, then you may do so via reaching out to us however, we may retain your Protected Information and Usage Information (including geo-location) for as long as your account with the Services is active and as needed to provide you services. Even after your account is terminated, such information shall be retained for statutory time-period as needed to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations in accordance with the applicable laws of the country, to resolve disputes, conclude any activities related to cancellation of an account, investigate, or prevent fraud and other inappropriate activity related to your account. Post completion of this phase we shall abide by to delete the information.
The security of your information is important to us. We take all measures to prevent the personal information misuse, loss, unauthorized access, modification or disclosure to any person except for the purpose listed out in this Policy. We abide by high standard control procedures, network firewalls, encryption and physical security to protect the information. However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude and limit our liability to you in respect of any breach of security or misuse, interference or loss, and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure of your personal information.
User acknowledges that Policy may be updated or changed from time to time to reflect changes in information practices or legal requirements. Any changes made to the Policy will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised policy. This notification can occur via email to the email address associated with the user's account or through a notice on the Volta Platform. Users are encouraged to periodically review the privacy policy to stay informed about the latest information regarding the service provider's privacy practices.
Additionally, the notification of changes to the privacy policy ensures that users are informed of any alterations to how their data is handled and gives them the opportunity to review and understand these changes.
A Volta Manager is appointed as the grievance officer. The grievance officer is designated for the purposes of the rules drafted under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Users can contact the grievance officer at the email address provided, which is support@voltacabs.com. Users are encouraged to address any grievances they may have regarding the privacy policy or the usage of their Protected Information or other data to the grievance officer. These provisions are designed to ensure transparency and user awareness. The appointment of a grievance officer allows users to have a point of contact for addressing privacy-related concerns or grievances.
We are committed to refer unresolved complaints to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Policy, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the Indian Council of Arbitration under as per the rules of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 or other law relating to arbitration in force in India at the relevant time. The number of arbitrators shall be one. The place of arbitration shall be Hyderabad, state of Telangana, India. The State laws of Telangana shall apply. Judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
